KOI Telecommunication Solutions – Fixed Price and Turnkey Projects
KOI Group has provided services to several large scale projects over the last 5 years, ranging across all areas of telecommunications. For example:
Telstra 100Gig DWDM Trial.
This project was a joint venture between Nortel and Telstra to provide a real life field trial of the latest DWDM technology from Nortel which allows 40 gigabits and 100 gigabits per wavelength. The project involved the installation, commissioning and testing of a long Haul DWDM system from Sydney to Adelaide. It was a successful trial that worked for six months over 2400kms and 26 sites and 47 splice points.
Vodafone Xcelerate Project.
KOI provided project resources to Downer EDI who was the major subcontractor to Ericsson for the upgrade of Vodafone’s wireless network.
Uecomm Metro DWDM Deployments
For the past 5 years KOI have been the sole contractor engaged to design, install, commission and integrate point to point, point to multipoint and ring metro DWDM systems for Uecomm around Australia. This has been done with Nortel and Huawei equipment.
Capacity upgrade of AAPT’s Intercity DWDM system
As a part of AAPT’s intercity capacity upgrade KOI supplied skilled resources for the installation and commissioning, testing and integration of new hardware to an in service DWDM system operating between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Refresh of OPTUS Marooka Exchange in Brisbane.
Removed and replaced 20,000 E1 cables,upgraded, installed and commissioned new HDXs into OPTUS network.
CDMA De-Commissioning Telstra “Next G” Network
KOI Group has undertaken along with Downer EDI, a Works program to remove this technology.
This was the end component of the Telstra Jersey Project.
Optus International Gateway Refresh Project
Optus required an update to their existing international services which operate over the
Southern Cross Submarine Cable Network. KOI was responsible for the installation, commissioning testing and integration of NGN SDH equipment into Optus exchanges and Southern Cross cable landing sites within the Sydney Metro area.
Drive Testing Services
KOI Group provides drive testing services on a national level for 3G optimisation teams and includes:-
- Contract management and quoting for driving testing programs
- National and international talent acquisition, sourcing and hiring of RF technicians and drivers
- Managing the deployment of RF technicians, drivers and equipment for the 3G optimisation teams
KOI Group has 16 x full time teams and 10 x contractor teams available with 16 x purpose built vehicles dedicated to drive testing.
